Another great way is to write guides and tutorials for people, relevant to your niche or industry, and get them posted up on high traffic websites with a "by" line giving credit to your site. Be sure that the by line is optimized to the term you're wanting to draw traffic for and be sure that its niched ("web hosting" is a bad term to start out with .

What kind of site are you trying to market? What service are you providing through the site? A lot of this plays into count when deciding how you are going to market it.
