To me it depends a great deal on the purpose of the site. If the purpose is purely informational, then it should have information presented in a sleek professional way. If the purpose is to advertise, then a well-done flash intro is great. I saw one today for a restaurant that was the best I have ever seen. It was short and quick and had absolutely nothing to do with food, but I sure want to go eat there cause it made me think the atmosphere would be awesome! I certainly agree though that every intro should have a skip option. If its a site you frequent, why would you want to sit through the intro every time?
