We have been thinking on how we can appreciate you being our member and a web hosting professional. At the same time, HostingDiscussion.com needed to deliver a fresh look at the industry.

So it is about time we said thank you to all managers, owners and employees of all web hosting firms around the globe that keep working around the clock to make sure hundreds of millions of web sites remain operational. We would like to appreciate your continuous efforts with our humble 2004-2005 Holiday Contest.

This contest is focused on YOU, the web hosting company owner/employee.

Contest Rules: Please submit a picture of you/your employee/etc on the topic of "working during the holiday season". Be creative!

The picture should reflect the holiday spirit during your routine professional operations.

The best presentation/picture, as judged by HD team, will be announced in the beginning of January 2005.

Up to 3 pictures per member.
Post pictures below in this thread.
Submission deadline: January 2nd, 2005.

Purpose: To set off the reality of the web hosting industry - underline that web hosting is a serious business and that hosting professionals work around the clock even during the holiday season to make sure their clients can celebrate holidays with their families in peace. Improve credibility of the industry.

Prize: Advertising package at HostingDiscussion.com: a text-link for a period of 1 month + 15,000 footer banner impressions. Altogether worth around $200.

Feedback/suggestions/questions are appreciated.

Regards,
HD Team

hehe, this could turn out to be pretty dangerous... I can just imagine some dude getting some friends together and spilling beer on the inside of their brand new PC, which has a 500W power supply...next thing you know, the guy thinks he's in cloud-cookoo land....
I'll donate all my posting points to anyone who can come up with a picture like that...NOT!!! (HEALTH WARNING : DO NOT DO THIS...YOU WILL DIE! ELECTTRIC SHOCKS ARE DANGEROUS!)

Does plugging your laptop in to the christmas tree powerbar, to help with a 90k email flood attack, whilst wearing a Father Christmas hat, count?

Memory, from christmas 2002

It was quite the spectacle - 11am on christmas morning. Two of our techs were in similar positions, at the same time, working on the issue.

No pictures though, so that counts me out of the contest. Funny, all the same.

I'll make sure to get dressed up as santa, typing away and replying to helpdesk requests . Can't you just see me doing that?

Unfortunately we didn't have any submissions, so we can't proceed with this contest. That proves that many of you were in fact busy working and not taking pictures.

Till next year.
