Yesterday night I was invited to attend a virtual presentation of the new ClientExec (Alpha) and I have to say that it looked impressive.
Alberto of Newedge showcased a few of the new features. They are simple, genius in design and will guarantee a more customer-oriented experience.
Best,
Artashes
As a ClientExec reseller I attended a similar presentation a few weeks ago. I must say I was impressed as well. I am seriously considering migrating from WHMCS to ClientExec once the new version is out.
I've been a fan of CE for years now. I love the software...my only issue is that it's much too difficult to customize the look. Backend-wise I love the software, because the technical end gets the job done effectively and simply IMHO.
It's more difficult than it should be. It's just annoying having to track down how something is used, it doesn't seem to follow a very logic way of doing things. I think this is what has allowed WHMCS to be competitive. I'm gonna stick with CE, but this is something that I really hope they address because the rest of the software as a whole is far superior to WHMCS IMHO.
As much as we would want to give other guys a try, but Modernbill has grown on us for the past few years working for/with other hosting companies.
Modernbill version 5 could be a pain in the neck, but believe it or not, it's quite useful once you nailed down a few basic steps they recently added in the new version. Their bookmarking tool is brilliant, even though it's a little addition, but it does help you speed up the process by going to sub-inner pages that clearly does not have a main button to go directly from the main page.
From the start in my web hosting venture I have always used Modernbill until NOW. V5 of Modernbill has been such a disaster on so many reports and with V5 there is no updates for V4. So with no updates planned, why stay with a system that has no future for expansion.
I have looked at V5 and I was no impressed by the layout or really any aspect of it. Within this last week I have migrated all my customers from Modernbill to WHMCS and I have to say I am really pleased. I have been following the progress of WHMCS for the last year and their system is constantly improving with regular updates and new features.
Since I have transferred over to WHMCS I have been nothing but impressed. Their system does everything I need plus more. Its an amazing system with a great future. Matt over there is a doing a great with this system.

I use Modernbill, mainly because it was what I was used to. I am considering a switchover to WHMCS or Clientexec. A friend of mine uses Clientexec and it just looks so good.
