Which billing dates do you choose for your hosting business?

Currently we bill on the day of the month that they signed up. We get a steady flow of payments come in each day of the month.

I am tempted to suggest switching to billing on the 1st of the month.

What are your thoughts on that kind of billing? I think it will be easier to manage late payments etc... and keep everything in 1 cycle each month instead of it being each day.

However, I also wonder if it will be a huge workload on 1 day of the month instead of a smaller amount each day.

Any thoughts?

That's what I did too Matthew, just billing every month from the day they joined.

It's a good way to spread income over the month but it can also add more work to management if your dealing with billing everyday.

Yep, monthly billing also enable you for better cash flow on regular basis. You can start billing from 1st every month, the new clients can pay pro-rata when they sign up, it is easy process.
