Is it a new tactic to bombard an email address with hundreds of the same emails? It's happened a few times to me now and it seems to be the latest venture in the hope that you open one of them to see how important it was to be sent 300 times!

Or maybe by page 7 of your web-based email you'll forget the subject and click it thinking it's a real email? I dunno. I only ever check my spam folder when there's an insanely large number of new ones in there.

It's happened several times to some of my domains. The most recent was about 1600 emails to all sorts of "randomcharachters"@mydomain.com

Since then I switched off the catch all and run the email through a MailFoundry. All seems good so far.

I am not sure the logic behind the attacks to so many addresses. I guess it pays well!
