Has anyone heard of this or debated signing up?

https://www.revolutionmoneyexchange.com/

They are offering a $25 sign up bonus, BUT, they ask for your SSN which I think it is going to put a lot of people off.

If this is an attempt to repeat PayPal in 2.0 fashion, then I don't see them grow too fast and too strong. SSN aside, the sign-up bonus seems to be valid only for U.S. account holders. On top of that, there is a limited number of participating banks.

The absence of account fees is certainly encouraging, but if you can't benefit, what's the use? I don't see them really become popular, but I'd enjoy watching them compete with well established rivals on a turf that has been monopolized long-time ago.

hmmm, it essentially looks like a bank that offers free merchant services, based on it's fees scales and wanting a social security. Hmmm, may not work great for business purposes as a sole option, but it'd be a great additional option for those who have it.

And that it could replace Western Union for wire transferring.... I like that!

Well, I'm a "Let's try all the new sh*t out, and talk about them horribly if they screw me" type of guy.

However, upon visiting the link, I was confronted with an "Internal Server Error" hmmm

I honestly am not too sure what to think of them, but it seems alright enough assuming they are legitimate.

While I probably wouldn't use the service, it's still good to see more alternatives to Paypal on the market.

I have been waiting on threads on another forum to say that people had successfully withdrawn the money that was their bonus for sign up and referrals, and have seen none yet. I do know of some merchants who are now using this successfully, so certainly it seems to be legitimate.

They still seem largely unproven, and like with all things unproven...you feel nervous using it until it is better established.

Money is not something to be messing around with after all, and you need to sure that the service is secure and legitimate, and hopefully look out for the customers safety from theft and frauds.

Well I can now tell you that people are having a whole heap of problems with them. One way or another they are messing over the verification of people's accounts, and not being able to start again because the SNN won't be released by the first one.

As hopeful as I once was about this, I haven't signed up for an account, nor do I intend to.

Thanks for the update, I think I'll avoid them until (if) they sort things out. I guess no fees is just a pipe dream!

If that's the case, I will be keeping more than a little distance from it.

That sounds like far too many problems, and until they can be addressed..I strongly advise everyone to keep their distance.

One can only hope these problems weren't intentional on their part, as some sort of scam.

I really and truly believe that this is a legitimate company, but they just really messed up by rolling out the service when it wasn't completely bug free. And that to me is a bad sign because if they can make that many mistakes, then I could never trust them with my money, let alone my SSN.

Despite the warnings here I decided to give them a whirl - $25 for signing up... and I needed them for a purchase from a lady who didn't have paypal. Sure enough, they couldn't verify my SSN, and I called them, and they couldn't even do it over the phone. I think I'll let this one go.

The 25 dollar sign up is intriguing but since I'm Canadian it won't do me any good. I don't like to try something as unproven as this company and the preceding but press before the post bears out why I'm cautious. I do better when I stick with something I know works.
