I have my account setup so I can accept checks offline, credit cards and even Paypal. It seems lately Paypal transactions are being "stuck" with Client Exec and I had a new client tell me that my billing software "sucked" because she had to type in so much information.

How is it my fault that my system sends her an invoice and she doesnt check her email to pay it? Do people really think I have control over PP.

SOme people seem to think such things should be magic and just automatically pay themselves or soemthing.

Yes, people can be lazy. You just need to take them as they are, explain what you can and cannot do (like dictate paypal what to do). Ultimately, you're better off without an unreasonable customer, if it really comes down to it.

You mean someone from PayPal doesn't come and knock on your door and personally tell you that you need to make a payment? That's it! I'm not going to use it any more!!

Sheesh! What does she want?! If you buy something using PayPal and then don't check your email what is the point? I know I see invoices usually before I log off after completing the transaction!

Paypal is already very simple as it is, I don't see how things could be an easier. I don't see how there's "so much" information that needs to be entered, I mean, you only have to sign up once.

In this age of identity theft I am glad when "alot" of information is required. Its less likely that someone can use my stuff that way! That woman needs to get a reality check!

Actually I am not so sure that more information is a good thing. Yes, it can help protect you but what if the company who holds all your info is the one who uses it in a negative way?

Well to better explain, the billing system will send her an email invoice then she goes to my billing system and logs in with username and pwd, then clicks a button to "pay" the invoice. I would love to know how all those steps are too hard for her.

I'm not sure why she was complaining. Typing information is not just a Paypal issue. She would have had to do that with any billing form, even if you had straight credit card processing.

Maybe set her up with a PayPal subscription instead of monthly invoicing requiring log in to your site.

No, you don't. Paypal will take the money from your existing credit card or bank account, your option.

I would do a subscription but my system (Client Exec) and Paypal seem to disagree, like IE & Netscape used to back in the day trying to run them together. PP does not like recurring charges with CE otherwise I would, but there is no way I plan to change my billing system for one potential client being lazy. I can understand wanting to keep yourself safe online but when you are purchasing something like a gift or hosting or anything else you could think of, you are still handing them over contact info - this person just wants an email address only and I told them we don't work like that sorry and good luck.

CE has an option to "force PayPal subscription", which you can set per customer, if I recall correctly.
