Is there any reason for me not to buy that license?

Thanks.
I would buy it. It is well worth it..

Version 4.5 is out now.

Even with upgrades, you save down the road. I have a good feeling WHMCS will be active for quite a few years - enough to make the owned license save you some money. Do the calculations, and if you end up expecting to be in business long enough to start saving from an owned license, then I'd suggest you get it.

If you expect to be in business after 16 months then an owned license would make more sense. $249.95/$15.95=16months

You also have to factor in the renewal of support - so the pay-back time is ~2years

Try the monthly first and then get the owned license.

If you don't mind it saying whmcs in the footer there would be no need for no branding which is more.

CaptainBlueBear,

This is a decision that should be made solely by you. We cannot determine what your budget is and/or how financially stable you are.

1) Have you just joined the web hosting industry?
2) Do you have permanent plans for this industry?
3) How do you feel about WHMCS? Have you tested the software?

These are a few questions you should ask yourself. If you feel comfortable with WHMCS, and you have plans to continue in this type of industry, then in my opinion i would start with WHMCS (non-branded) with a monthly lease, until you see some sort of stability in your company and move forward within time to a owned license.

Layout a business plan for your company and follow it. Take a step by step. No one in this industry succeeded by taking the elevator.

Best Regards,

Over 5 years doing renewals on the owned license even with no branding, you end up paying less.

It would depend on whether the individual is ready for such action. Not everyone has such train of thought, but can achieve it within time.
