I don't but it looks pretty nice. A bit expensive at $149 though? Why not just use ModernBill?

Looks like a fairly good system. The price is not bad considering how much time it will save you. We have not tried it yet, but it looks promising.

Uhh...not to be nitpicky, but I think you should look again if you think lpanel is pricier than ModernBill:

ModernBill: $24.95 / mo = $299.40 / yr
lpanel: $19.95 / mo = $239.40 / yr (or you can pay yearly and get it for $149.95 / yr)

or

ModernBill: Owned license up to 250 clients = $179.95 + $29.95 every 6 mo. renewal for support

lpanel: Lifetime license including support = $249.95

If we're just looking at cost, I'd say lpanel is the clear winner here. I don't have either yet, but am looking for reviews on lpanel also. It is the only one I've found so far that has integration with Wild West Domains, and looks user-friendly.

Actually it is a little nitpicky.
We are talking about a well established piece of software that is the perennial favorite among web hosts, compared to a virtual unknown in a similar price range.

When you are the new guy on the block cost is a very big factor.

That being said, this thread is several months old and this is the first I've heard of lpanel. They may be great.

Well, that was my point exactly. Clearly ModernBill is more established, but it is also more expensive. To someone (like me) who is just looking into dipping a toe into the web hosting business, that $150 difference for the yearly lease is an interesting point, especially when I've seen as many anti-ModernBill posts as I have pro-ModernBill.

Bottom line - since the original poster had mentioned cost, that's what I was responding to - on a cost basis alone, lpanel is definitely cheaper. Obviously, that should NOT be the sole criteria for choosing one over the other.

I'm with you - just started hearing about this and am hoping some actual users will chime in to tell us how it works. We need to find out if it really IS less expensive or just cheap, if you know what I mean!

How about dreamcost? They support skipjack and that's what I'm using for payment. Anyone has any experience with them? I like moderbill but it does not yet support skipjack, they told me that I need to program the API first. And I just don't have the time.

Or maybe someone knows of any other billing automation program that support skipjack out of the box?

It looks pretty nice indeed. What is skipjack? I'm using whoiscart (www.whoiscart.net) as my billing automation program right there; it's very good and is only 35 for an unlimited license . Don't know if it support skipjack though..go ask on whoiscart's forums.

We've been using Lpanel but are offering ClientExec to our clients since Lpanel's distributor program is buggy. As a matter of fact, their whole software is pretty flaky which defeats the purpose of something being easy to use.

We have to backtrack and check everything that Lpanel says it did. Argh.

Their support team is lousy (but then so is WHMAP's). Oh well, America thrives on bad customer service. :-/
