Hello,

Just want to shout out to all those users that are put off by comments for modernbill like " its too hard" and "its buggy"

This was my 3rd attempt at installing the software and although it installed ok, i found that i needed just that little more patience in configuring it.

It took me about 1 month to fully customise it to how i want and set it up and boy am i glad i took the time. It does everything you'd expect to pay your staff to do, but it costs a lot less.

Intergrated with the fraud services it offers, you can offer instant account activation. v5 is also due out soon

Advice to newbie with this software. If your struggling with it, take your time, make a coffee and take another look. Im glad i did, although i think im a little dehydrated with all that coffee.

Nice to hear you got there in the end. We're currently using ClientExec which currently gets the job done. At the moment, we're not really after the bells and whistles as we have staff manually check for fraud, manually setup accounts, etc...

I have heard a few positive and negative things about LPanel, however it seems to be very nice. We may consider upgrading in the future.

I just prefer WHM - Auto Pilot. But I've heard many reviews abour Modern Bill. But I just decide to still with WHM - Auto Pilot after I spot the price of it.

Unfortunately WHMAutoPilot is insecure in the way of SMTP usage. If it weren't for that, we might appreciate our owned license a bit more.

We use PhPcoin and it seems to be working fine. It proboly isn't much compared to modern bill , but it gets the job done.

I gotta say, I am a huge fan of ModernBill as well. We've been using it for the past 2-1/2 years, and don't know how we'd get on without it. Sure, it takes some time to configure and get setup the way you need it. However, this is a business. It is well worth the investment of time.

Unfortunately, I am with Lpanel. Right now, support is starting to ignore their customers as they did for the entire month of November of 2004. The software is also becoming very buggy for us, and isn't detecting our server settings as it should. Although Lpanel always blaims the customers server, they never tell us what it is on the server that needs to be fixed. Instead they fix it for us not telling us what the problem is (which makes me beleive that they are really tweaking Lpanel and not the server). Anyways, I am trying to get away from them before they eventually go over. I talked to someone within Lpanel, and I was informed that Lpanel isn't doing so well internally. As I stated in another post, I am trying to move away from Lpanel and to either ModernBill (which I find very complicated, and is loaded with features I won't use) or WHMAutopilot. I really don't like the integrated Help desk that WHMAP has right now, so that's what is really making me want to go with ModernBill. I also here that WHMAP is coming out with their 'so talked about' Version 3 beta version at the end of this month. (We'll see about it) so hopefully it will have a better setup for the help desk.

Anyways, just my .02 cents.

I switched to modernbill from whmap and I love it. Sure the configging is hard but most of the stuff is controlled in the database so updating is a breeze. Also whmap is 2 years overdue on v3 which was unacceptable to me. Good thing I never went with the owned license.
