I am interested in setting up a credit card payment gateway for my web hosting company. The options are overwhelming! There are many options to choose from and then tons of resellers to choose from. I was wondering if anyone can point me in the direction to some decent ones to apply to? I know it varies with monthly volume and variables such as that, but I am just looking for general info.

Thanks!

zopiwebhosting,

Yes, authorize.net is very good. We use it for our credit card transaction. It can be expensive. We went through CDGCommerce.com which so far has been great to us. They actually called me to see if I was alive.

We run $15.00/month on authorize.net at 10 cents/transaction and I will not disclose the fees per transactions for CDGCommerce.com because they do vary. They are less than 2.75%. Have a wonderful Day!

We've always obtained the best rates with our bank. I would recommend contacting your local bank.

That's a great suggestion and always a safe bet. However, I found that dealing with your local bank (not e-commerce focused) can be quite an expensive experience. Often it costs many times more, and you get less flexibility with features.

If you are a web hosting company, there is plenty of reputable virtual payment processing companies available that are just as safe as your local bank, and more cost efficient as well. These are built specifically for Internet merchants, so why not take advantage of that.

Best,
