Mouzz Interactive domain registrar accreditation at risk

ICANN has warned Mouzz Interactive to pay its overdue domain registrar accreditation fees or lose its license. Mouzz Interactive owes $21, 175.01 in accreditation fees to ICANN and the organization placed October 20 as the last due date. ICANN orders bulk domain transfer, fines Red Register

ICANN has ordered Red Register to transfer its domain names to DirectNIC after the company violated several conditions of an agreement called the Registrar Accreditation Agreement. Red Register also must pay a fine in the amount of $15,600 to ICANN for neglecting to pay accreditation fees.

Sedo acquires ParkingPanel

The online domain marketplace Sedo has purchased ParkingPanel, a domain monetizing service provider. ParkingPanel was launched three years ago and it caters primarily to individuals with large domain portfolios. ParkingPanel customers will be merged into the existing Sedo framework, according to sources, and will gain access to Sedo’s advanced monetization engine.

Domain expiration survey

An ICANN working group, called “The Post-Expiration Domain Name Recovery Working Group”, has requested clarification from the organization about domain expiration policies. The questions that the group are asking includes whether there is enough notice that domain registrants receive and whether domain transfer should occur during the Redemption Grace period.

Sedo to soon cross 1 million user mark

Domain Name Wire reports an online domain marketplace Sedo will soon hit 1 million registered users. More than 55,000 users joined the site since the end of last year, which brings the total number of users to 962,000, based on its first quarter financial report.

Sedo acquires RevenueDirect

Domain marketplace Sedo has acquired a domain parking service RevenueDirect, previously owned by Dotster. This acquisition increases Sedo’s North American market share of domain services due to RevenueDirect’s large inventory and registrar presence. In exchange, RevenueDirect customers will be able to use Sedo’s monetization features.

.TEL restrictions loosened

The registration of .TEL domains has been loosened by UK-based registry operator Telnic Limited. Consumers can now buy a .TEL domain without auctions or waiting lists. .tel domains open only to trademark owners until 3rd of February

Various domain name registrars have been actively trying to encourage trademark owners to apply for their own .tel domains before the landrush date which is February 3 at 3:00 p.m. GMT. The sunrise period began on December 3 when trademark owners were allowed to register for a non-refundable fee that costs $399.
