Pragma Securities moves to Switch and Data’s EcoCenter in New York

Trading solutions provider Pragma Securities has moved to Switch and Data’s New York Financial EcoCenter, which is interconnected with a couple of data centers in Manhattan and to ultra low latency fiber providers. Ample space and power availability are two of the factors that went into company’s decision to move to the EcoCenter.

Yahoo’s New York DC confirmed

Yahoo! confirmed the location for its new data center to be built Lockport Industrial Park in Western New York. It will measure 190,000 square-foot and it will create 50 to 100 jobs. Some states such as Ohio and Pennsylvania had been courting Yahoo to build its new data center on their locations.

Yahoo’s new data center to cost $150M

Yahoo! new data center facility in Lockport, New York (Niagara County), might cost the company $150 million to build. Another possible location is Genesee County in Western New York. A planned public hearing on the site is scheduled on the last day of this month. The new data center is expected to employ 125 people.
