Rackspace Survey: IT managers hate server-shopping

Apparently, every second IT manager wishes to never have to buy another server. According to a new Rackspace Hosting survey of 441 IT managers, 61% of them said that one of their biggest challenges is “time to drive innovation”, followed by “hassle of managing servers”, mentioned by 58% of responders.

Rackspace’s Chicago data center

An announcement has been made by Rackspace Hosting that it has leased a facility in Chicago for a new data center. The size of the rented space is 36,700 square feet and it operates with 5.633 megawatts of critical load. It will go online later this year.

Rackspace Email 7.0 is out

Rackspace Hosting has unveiled a new version of its business-class hosted email offering Rackspace Email 7.0. The 10GB ad-free box costs $1 per mailbox per month, which is a tenth of the price of Microsoft Exchange. The updates in the new application includes right-click functionality and multiple calendars.
