Dallas Alcatel to be transformed into DC for Digital Realty Trust

A former Alcatel campus near Dallas, Texas will be transformed into a massive data center for Digital Realty Trust. The company acquired three data centers this month in Santa Clara. The construction and operation of the upcoming data center will bring 172 jobs this year and over 1,200 jobs through 2015.

Telorean opens $15-million data center in Houston

A 90,000 square foot data center has been opened in Houston, Texas by Telorean, an IT systems firm. It extends the company’s position in terms of providing a resilient infrastructure. The current headquarters of the company is in Seattle, Washington. Hosting, applications, and networking are some of the services of the new $15-million DC.

Stream Data Centers’s new data center in Texas

Stream Data Centers is building a single story data center in Richardson, Texas. A 20,000 square feet facility is scheduled to open in August and can be controlled by up to four tenants. It is designed to withstand 125 mph winds and its security features include biometric scanners and internal and external cameras.

Baronyx is building a wind powered data center

A 28,000 square-foot data center, fully powered by wind, will be built in Stratford, Texas for Baronyx.  It will initially be powered by 150 onshore wind turbines. Each of those turbines are capable of producing between 3.3 to 6 MW of power. 450 additional turbines will be added later in the Gulf of Mexico.

Woodforest National Bank moves to CyrusOne data center

CyrusOne was selected by Woodforest National Bank as its data center partner. The services for the Texas-based bank will be provided at the Austin data center of CyrusOne, which features a fully redundant 2N configuration and multiple levels of uninterruptible power.

New CyrusOne data center

CyrusOne will build a new 50,000 square-foot data center in Austin, Texas. Located in Austin’s data center business park, it will have two substations that will be able to receive power of up to 400 watts from separate sources.
