The giant of blog hosting has seen an outage Thursday this week that lasted for nearly 2 hours. An unscheduled router change took 10.0 million blogs down when all the mechanisms for failover also broke. The company is working on a plan to make sure a similar issue does not occur in the future.

EPhost introduces new control panel; announces plan to offer cloud hosting

A new web hosting control panel has been introduced by EPhost. Some of its most prominent features is the ability to automatically install open-source applications such as WordPress, as well as backup/restore an entire website. The company announced its intention to release cloud hosting solutions offering in the near future. users get short URL service have partnered with WordPress CMS to create an URL shortening service in blog posts. This makes posting long URLs easier on sites such as Facebook and Twitter. The short links are approximately 70 percent smaller according to the co-founder of WordPress. The service only works with URLs and the links are permanent.
