I've spent most of today dealing with my lawyer (not business related) and haven't had time to look at this yet. I fouled up with a domain name purchase last night-what do you think the chances are that the company I bought from would take pity on it and correct my stupidity?

Was it a new domain you registered? or did you make an offer on an already registered domain? Who did you buy the domain through if it was a new registration?

Some of those questions will need answered before many of us can try to answer it. If you just fouled up and typed in the wrong thing right off the bat, I dont see many places going ahead and letting it go since they are still having to pay for the domain reg. (if you ordered through your hosting company that is).

If you bought it straight from a registrar, I think *some* registrars will allow you to nullify a domain up to five days after initial purchase - essentially, return it. However, you'd have to check with whomever you bought the domain from - and do this sooner than later.

You may just have to deal with the fact that you bought the wrong domain name, and just make dang sure not to renew it next year.

I agree, it depends on the registrar and their TOS and how friendly they are. Never hurts to ask, but letting it go much longer would make it look like you're just having second thoughts instead of having made a typo. Hopefully you get lucky.

It was already too late, or rather was sold as is. Thanks guys, I have learned my lesson. Life is tough right now with other things and honestly I shouldn't be trying to do any of this till things settle down!

I won't mention the name I bought here, as I'd rather not stay anonymous on the forum (gotta love the internet ) and especially not be known in my stupidity....
