I have yet to have a problem using Namecheap. I get constant updates via email and really no problems whatsoever.

I use namecheap and have not had a problem although I am not using their autorenew system. If I have any issues with them I am always able to transfer my domain to my enom account. I only use them as I like to keep my domains within a different system then my client domains.

We had been having some issues with NC for about a year. Some small and some a little on the serious side and we had used them for several years without any problems.

Their support had gotten to the point a lot of times trying to point the finger at us when there was no way we could have generated the problem.

A few months ago they really, and I mean seriously. messed over one of our clients big time and it cost him enough that it got our attention also more than out of the ordinary.

We looked at his support ticket he had and then we contacted them and got the same response...sorry about that, things happen sometimes, contact us if we can be of further help to you.

We did...we started moving several 100 domains out from them to another registrar.

They keep easing up on their prices to the point where we had started going with other registrars.

We're buying domains several dollars cheaper than NC and have been doing business with these registrars also with never a problem.

In our business two things can make or break a client with us..fast with smart support persons and money talks.

Happy Easter everyone!

Namecheap is one of the selection for domain registration and SSL. They have good support as well. This must be a glitch in their system and due to this you faced this issue.

I don't have any domain registration with them but I am purchasing SSL certificates from them since last several years and never had a problem. For technical assistance, I got my answer from their live chat most of the time.

I am not facing such issues. I think You will need to renew the domain first and only after that you can transfer it

I have quite a few domains registered with Namecheap and haven't experienced any problems yet - keeping my fingers crossed it stays that way.

If are you looking to move elsewhere I can recommend NetEarthOne as a great provider of domain reseller accounts. The prices are great, and their support has been awesome. They gave me serious help when I started selling domains (some years ago now) and have always sorted any niggly little issues super fast.

(We're not affiliated with them, but do use them as a customer/reseller).

You should always keep an eye on your accounts and have it in mind how long you got left on each domain.

But namecheap had a mistake in the system and they solved the issue by paying the renew cost for you.

This type of issue can happen to anyone as systems do fail no matter how many safeguards you put in place.

I can't say about Namecheap domain registartion services, but their SSL service is excellent (and yea, ultra-cheap!). Very recently I ordered twice for SSL for a domain by accident, and it only required a quick live chat to get refund for one of the orders.

its not their SSL service that is excellent, its their support network. wait until you have a SSL with them and then renew it or have it reissued through them as you will hit issues.

All I can do is recommend NetEarthOne, we've got all but a few of our domains through them and their support is excellent, not that I need it often, they've got plugins for all the top billing systems.

Mistakes can happen, the quality of a business is how it's dealt. Thanks for sharing.
