Every domain has a fee associated with it. You're not going to get something absolutely free.

I think he means a host that gives a free domain registration with a hosting package.
In that case, there are plenty of hosting providers that do that. I cannot particularly single out one of them.

Artashes is right about what I meant. Does anyone have any leads?

I can give you a free domain name however you'd need to signup for some webhosting on a 1 year contract

I'm sure there are many. The only one I know of off hand is http://*********.com/hosting/ where they offer a free domain registration with the gold or platinum plan.

Go to google.com and type "free domain name with web hosting".

Then spend several hours sending each host you are interested in using a sales email and see if they respond, etc...

I would say you should absolutely not take one of those offers. Buy your domain from a registrar that gives you a control panel and full control. To buy them together is a newbie misstake, and everyone knows it.

That sure is a newbie mistake. Too many people take the bait and get the domain free with the website. Then when they are not satified with service they cannot get the domain transfered.

One client of mine had to pay $35 to the hosting company as a fee to give his domain to him. One he had owned for many years and transfered to them as they requested to host the website. Then the $35 extortion fee to get your name back. And it takes 2 weeks wile your site is inaccessible.

Unfortunately yahoo plays the same game. Cancel service and they hold up your domain and will only work with you by e-mail. Making the move difficuly and disruptive.

Buy the domain from a real registrar. Its usually under $10 and well worth the investment.
