I want to buy a bunch of domain names, and was hoping that someone knew of a deal where if I buy mysite dot com, they throw in mysite dot org and/or mysite dot net?

There are about a dozen domain names I want to secure.

Hosting isnt a big deal right now. I mainly want to secure some names. Though, a static page and email account would be great. My focus right now is to secure the names. I can pick a hosting company when development is finished.

Just dont want to have to buy the dot org AND the dot net AND the dot com!

jmilane, I am afraid the only suggestion I can give you is to use discount coupons during the registration to get the lowest price possible. You can find some at http://www.dncoupons.com

I do not know of any company/individual that would just give those away. You can also try to search the web for deals. From time to time I see startup domain registrars offering very low prices on names, like $2-3 per name.

If you are serious about the upcoming site, the cost of the domains is not a big investment, so I would not be cheap on such a critical part if that was really important.

At a reliable provider, it doesn't work like that when you're only talking a mere dozen domains.

However, if you use GoDaddy you can get .com domains for $7.20 and .net domains for $7.24

Directi has some good deals on .org domains right now. It's for resellers only, but if you plan on purchasing a bunch of domain names, this might be an ideal solution.
