davet, thanks for sharing this nice script. However there is better option of cpsync but it is not free for cPanel end user or a Reseller.

cpSync software is free, however it is a closed-source script. The catch is that you need to buy the backup space from cpsync.net and the packages are already cheap

I higly recommend rsync as well. Use webbycart, rsync palace, or bqbackup for rsync.
