Even though cpanel is the most popular..Plesk and DirectAdmin are still used. Different strokes for different folks.

Absolutely different strokes for different folks. I think by far the most popular is cPanel, but Plesk and DirectAdmin have a huge following.

Just because something is the most popular does not make it the best.

Just because a product is the the most popular it doesn't make it the best. Sure Cpanel is great, Plesk is Great, DirectAdmin, etc., etc., etc.

I think I've used pretty much every popular panel out there, not just as a end user but a a admin as well. My personal preference is DirectAdmin. It's light weight, quick, user friendly and a whole lot less cluttered the Cpanel.

Do your self a favor, don't take our words for it. Try them all out and decide what best suites YOUR needs.

Yes there is one and it's called cPanel. I don't know any other control panel that offers same level of features as cPanel.

What does Cpanel have that the rest do not have?

DirectAdmin > H-Sphere > cPanel > Plesk

I like how DirectAdmin and H-Sphere treat all domain names the same. There is no primary domain name. I don't care for the way cPanel handles "add on" domains. In cPanel by default all "add on" domains are treated like subdomains creating multiple folders and ftp accounts for each additional domain. Plus I don't care for cPanel's file manager. I don't like Plesk at all. But it has been 4 or 5 years ago since the last time I used Plesk, so I don't know what has changed in more recent versions.

And I definitely don't care for the 1&1 and vDeck control panels. I find both of them awkward.

Definitely cPanel! It's the most user friendly panel I have ever seen.

Direct Admin might be not either too, but it's what you need rather than what's the best.

cPanel is great, Directadmin too. But that really depends on the needs and budget of the provider.

I know most clients migrating from other control panels mention the uniqueness of our EasyApache functionality. Not only is the possibility of typographical issues significantly reduced, and the ability to point, click and host using whatever modules you want present -- but the dry run to ensure everything will work properly before applying it to your server helps maximize uptime.
