Softaculous is much better in my opinion. More scripts, customizable, and fast updates.

I have both options and I personally experienced helpful. Perhaps the fact that Fantastico is free makes it more appealing to most of clients. Browsing in to Softaculous I found lots of functional tools, it is time consuming browsing around but it is absolutely awesome.

I'm most familiar with Fantastico De Luxe, it all depends on preference. I really enjoy it none the less.

Softaculous gets my vote. It's new so the developers are still in the mood to improve it constantly and add new scripts.

Softaculous, most clients request it too. I have not played around with the other one but hey the weekend is still young and I am looking at a beautiful four day weekend here.
