Haha wish I could keep mine like yours TheLinuxGuy.
I have far too much things on mine, would rather have about 10 icons max.

I think the program is called ThemeXP but not positive, 90%

WOW I never even leave my own PC running overnight unless Im doing something that takes hours and is very intensive...
My uptime would be around 15 hours

For hosting..thats a different matter, but I dont try keep a server up for uptime because of security to upgrade etc

well the debian box is just a spare old box that doesnt do anything, I'm just running an experiment!

I turn of my computer when I go to sleep most of the time.

Best,
Eugene.

Thanks Robert.

I too turn my computer off at night, but did read once that you actually wear them out faster by doing so, anyone else hear that?

Freakled,

It does wear out the harddrives faster doing that. The power up and down puts a load of wear and tear

Thanks Steve, that is what I heard, I heard leave the computer one and turn off the monitors, so thanks for confirming that.

Also, remember computer hard drives has shelf life. So, if you keep your puter off too long ( 6 months to 1 year +) the hard drive may not work anymore.
