A Medical Transcriptionist transcribes the recordings made by doctors and other health care professionals and make reports, letters and other administrative materials. In the course of their work, doctors and other healthcare professionals make dictated recordings of various things including physical examination observations, patient history, operative reports, referral letters, discharge summaries, observations regarding imaging data and so on.

In the US it is essential for medical professionals or doctors to keep an
accurate medical record of all aspects of a patient.The medical professionals store the data related to the patient in audio format .Medical transcribing means interpreting information of medical records that are dictated by healthcare professionals and physicians.
