The largest prank I ever pulled was with the help of a friend while in the Cayman Islands.
We had an ongoing practical joke going with a person from a company in the same plaza we were in. It's a very long story so I will cut to the chase.
We created a company called Uncle Rod's pony rides. (Rod was the receiving end of out practical jokes) We had flyers and business cards printed, we took out 20 radio ads and a quarter page newspaper ad all announcing the grand opening. The ads were very cheesy with many not so hidden jabs. One line from the newspaper ad was "Children under 12 get to ride Uncle Rod's pony for free". There were others. The grand opening took place in front of Rod's office.

It is a much better practical joke if you were to know all of the people involved and all of the circumstances leading up to it.

The only thing that sort of backfired on us was that on all of the print advertising we did we listed the phone number as 555-1234. Fake number right? Nobody uses the 555 exchange right? Wrong. It turned out to be the direct line to the Cayman General Hospital's emergency room.
