Off the beaten path of the forums:

Aloha

If you've lived in Hawaii or have been there on vacation, what did you enjoy the most? Or if you're just planning a trip, what do you look forward to seeing or doing? I personally loved the rainbows, waterfalls, flowers, the culture, all the great beaches and the fantastic weather.

I used to be in the line of travel well before hosting but I have never been. I have however booked many others there who loved it. Most places were Maui (best rated that I remember). Are you going back anytime soon?

I've been back a few times, the most recently about three years ago. Will return in about two years if all goes right. Maui is beautiful but very windy - at least at the airport - the winds tend to sweep across the center of the Island. It's not nearly as commercialized as Oahu, but every Island has it's unique attraction. Waimea Canyon and the Fern Gretto on Kauai are very popular. The Big Island is very different because of the volcanoes - the terrain begins to slope very quickly uphill. Kailua Kona's airstrip is actually built on a flat lava flow. You won't find the pure white sands like at Pensacola, but you will find every other type of sand, including black sand - which is much coarser. What you won't find there are snakes or poison ivy.

I use to live in Hawaii when I was 3 years old. All I remember is the ocean and my house. I remember digging huge holes as forts when I was at the ocean. Hawaii is a beautiful place and I want to go back sometime in my life.

How's that? I don't think I remember anything when I was 3.

I remember when I was stationed in Pensacola (beautiful beaches) - I decided then that I wanted to live in Hawaii. To my surprise, my next assignment was to KMCAS on Oahu. For my first six months, I lived in a duplex across from the Valley of the Temples in Kaneohe. From my home I could look across the highway at the mountains and waterfalls everyday. When I moved onto the base, I was less than half a mile from the ocean. I remember I had two Plumeria trees outside my bedroom that smelled incredible.

I remember a lot of stuff from my childhood. I have a great long term memory. And it was a major event in my life. I caught my first fish there a baby barracuda. My Last name is Bass, so I am the true bass master

If you're still into fishing, the deep sea fishing off of Kailua Kona on the Big Island is fantastic.

Have never been to Korea, but sent lots of my Marines there for 6 month tours. I opt'd to go to Okinawa, Japan instead. What was your impression of Korea?

well it's really nice there. Clean i think because in the place in the korea we stay it is really clean. And people are well disciplined. When i forgot my psp in the bus my seatmate even go down to the bus and pursue me just to give it back. It's really nice there.

BTW, you're marines why do you run some sort of marine company?
