The older I get the harder it is stay motivated about exercise, but I did just convince my wife to let me put a gym in my house (upstairs). The one piece of equipment I think makes me feel better moreso than the rest is the Total Fitness Gym that Chuck Norris advertises.

Yes. Facing the sun and getting energy from SUN. But 50% of time, I do inside house. If you do properly, you feel energy and wont get tired. Or else you will sweat as like other exercises

Well, I go for a run (20-30 min) to get the body warmed up, then I do some push ups, sit ups, and bench press.
I do this 3 times a week and leave the weekends free for a recovery period and to snack on stuff I couldnt snack on during the week

I hear that! You know you can actually eat more if you exercise. If I didn't exercise regularly, I'd weigh 400 pounds. LOL.

Just got a gym membership. I think it's important(for me) to get out of the house and do it, also "getting my money's worth" has something to do with it and makes me go

When I was in high school, I use to run 8 miles a night in the off season for track.
Once I was out of track the motivation wasn't there because it seems like I was running just to run. Which some days that is good but most of the time it seems pointless.
I find it difficult to work out, working so much. However, like you Steve I have been working on getting motivated to start working out again. You going for the Chuck Norris look?

Chuck Norris look? NO. I do have a Nidan rating in Okinawan Kenpo Karate though. The Total Fitness Gym has been a pleasant surprise - it has really helped in the full range of motion of my shoulders and upper body.

From a nasty car wreck eons or so ago I have some back issues so things like sit ups are not my fancy (anymore, oddly years ago I could do this all day long).
I now feel the age that I am sometimes, but after a wreck & two kids who wouldn't right? I still exercise when I can but it would be much easier to give up sleep than give up chocolate.

I have the total gym as well and it is a useful thing to have.. can do quite a lot and also comes in handy for lifting free weights too, bench press etc. as long as you don't exceed its max weight limit!
Other than that, lifting 5U storage servers in and out of racks is always a nice workout..

Just got a bow-flex from my son yesterday and a Joe Weider Olympic Weight Bench (very nice / 280lbs of weights). The bow-flex is not as good as I expected, but it is different, so that's a plus. I don't think I'd use the Total Fitness Gym for lifting free weights on.

I got a nice little gym in my basement. When I get angry I go down there for 1hr or less and hit it over and over. Working out is great. Keeps you in shape and great for getting stress out.

Do you have a routine, like working opposing muscle groups, or have any tips for shocking your muscles?
