I have a very annoying PC problem. I've been trying to delete folders from when I used to do PHP script installations. I've successfully deleted all but one.

When I try to delete this folder, I get the following error message.
Quote:
Cannot delete Commands: The file name you specified is not valid or too long.
Specify a different file name.

The files in this folder have names like

CreateFolder.php
DeleteFile.php
DeleteFolder.php
RenameFolder.php

I cannot right-click these files and rename them.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Try deleting the content of the folder before deleting the folder itself.
When you delete the content, if it doesn't work, restart PC and try again.

I do not guarantee a solution, but I had that once and deleting content/restarting worked for me.

I've actually had to do this for some of the other folders that I deleted.

Unfortunately, for this situation, no luck.

Worst case scenario you could delete them via the command prompt in safe mode..

I tried getting into Safe Mode, but received an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error message.

UPDATE: I think I fixed it. I moved the entire folder to the Shared Documents folder and then deleted it in there. For some reason, it didn't give me any error this time. Thanks for your help.
