November 11th (in the U.S.) is Veterans Day. A special day where people publicly thank and honor this counties military veterans (it should be done EVERY DAY, but I'll save that for another topic!)

11/11/1918 at 11am was the signing of the end of World War I, which is why November 11th is remembered in the US (and other parts of the world) as not only Veterans Day but sometimes Remembrance Day.

Whichever you celebrate, take a few moments out of your day, shake hands with a Vet and thank them for their service. You may not agree with the political stances the government has taken, and you may not agree with the various operations around the world, but your military personnel are what allows you the "free speech" to say that you do not agree with it!

I only know of one Veteran here on the forums, Steve-Hostirian, so a special thanks to you! If you're a Veteran, I somehow didn't remember, but I sincerely thank you for your service!

Thanks Conor. It was a real honor serving in the Marine Corps (Semper Fi). To all the other Veterans here, thank you for your service.

As Obama said, we celebrate and think about everyone who has ever word a uniform. Glad to see some of our members among those people and certainly appreciate everything they do to protect our way of life.

There are a lot of young men and women in uniform right now that need our support, regardless of your political affiliation. These are our sons and daughters and brothers and sisters, and dad's and mom's - and neighbors in our community.

When I was in Guam, I had the privilege to visit a cemetry for thousands of servicemen and women who lost their lives there in World War II. And now my Dad lays in rest at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis. Every headstone there today will have an American flag next to it.
