Back when I was doing outside sales, I used to drive some rural routes and came across a farmer tilling a field on his tractor (not unusual), but there was a three legged pig following his tractor.

Having some time on my hands, like a typical sales rep, I pulled over to the side of the road and flagged the farmer over. I asked him, "What's the story on your three legged pig? That's not something you see every day."

He proceeded to tell me how that pig was the greatest pig in the world - how once, when his tractor jackknifed and trapped him beneath it, that pig put his shoulder to the tractor and freed him from certain death.

Not only that, but when his son fell in the pond out back and almost drown, that pig swam out and pulled him ashore.

I was like, WOW! That's some pig! But I said, "That doesn't explain why he has three legs." The farmer said, "A pig that great, you can't eat all at once."

I first told this joke back in the 80's, when I actually was driving around rural Illinois.

It's kind of gross, but I still like the story.

Just shows once again how mean people are to animals.

I like the story but I don't like the fact that the farmer still wants to eat the pig upon the pig saving his son.
