I need some tips on a good location to go to for a week to just kick back and relax. Mainly within the US, but would also go to Canada (thinking Niagra as a possibility).

Anyone have a good recommendation? I don't need malls or attractions nearby, just need somewhere that'd be almost away from everything/everyone.

Niagra is very nice in the Summer. However, if you plan to be right in the main tourist block, then forget relaxing.

Most places on the strip there, are open almost all night long, as well are all of the attractions.

Think of New Orleans during Mardi Gras, or Las Vegas, trimmed down a little.

I can suggest Daytona Beach, Virginia Beach, Miami Beach (at night), camping in the hills of Pennsyvania.

Camping is usually my thing. It's nice peacful, and relaxing most of the time.

My idea of camping is Embassy Sweets, Hilton, something like that.

See, then you have no idea what you're missing.

Forget about Niagra John. Pure tourist hell. (Niagra Falls not the wine region)
Niagra on the Lake is nice but still touristy.
Do you live on the East Coast?
If it is only for kicking back and relaxing I would suggest a place like Rehoboth Beach in Delaware.
Maybe move a little further South and do some golfing in the Carolinas.

If you decide to come to Canada then a week long tour of the Niagra wine region would be good.

Id siggest going on a cruise. During the day's at sea, you can relaxe on the deck listening to the nice caribean music, at night, enjoy the 5 star meals. Then the next day at a port, go chill and rtelaxe on a beach. It's awesome .

Also, the 24 hour buffets don't hurt..

The only thing with that is better half would be horribly afraid to go on a cruise. She's had bad experiences with boats and big open waters so I won't put her through that. It's hard enough to get her on a plane.
