Our boxes are 32GB nodes running Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V as the virtualization environment.

For shared/reseller/etc servers, we use atleast an 2x Intel 5140, 4GB of RAM, that is the least that we have. For VPS, we use 2x Intel 5160, 8GB of RAM.

These are all minimum specifications, for our CDP servers, we use X5340 and a lot of hard drives.

I run two servers - one for free accounts and one for paid.

The free server:
AMD Athlon x2 4400+
2GB x1 DDR2-667 Corsair memory

The "premium" server:
AMD Phenom x4 9750
2GB x2 (4GB) DDR2-800 Kingston memory

They both run great.

We don't have a "standard" per server configuration per say, since our technology is based on cloud computing. However we do use the latest multi-core processors by Intel. We have several quad cores and dual quad cores, servers engineered by HP.

Our processor count, ram increases on the fly as we add nodes and storage automatically scales as we add storage shelves.
