Hey,
I moved an account from one server to another (WHM on both)

The owner/reseller of the account wont change from the username on one of the servers to root on the one its moved to.

I have tried doing it the normal way though WHM but its still keeping the same owner in "List Accounts" in the main WHM.

Is there any other way to change this?

Thanks
John

Goto reseller area, click on change ownership, select the username and then choose root as the owner. Should work, I just did it on a account on my server.

Yeah thats what I done but it didnt work, still keeping the owner as the owner username from the other server.

I think it might be a problem in WHM because its saying the owner of the account has been changed but its still saying the wrong owner in list accounts through WHM

Ok, alternative way.

NOTE: This should work but I am not a 100% expert on this.

Ok, from shell goto /var/cpanel

edit the reseller.accts file that owns the username

copy the entire line and place in root.accts

remove it from reseller.accts

Note: reseller.accts is the reseller username that owns the accounts.

Let me know if that works. I know editing these files should not hurt anything. I've copied them over many times from when I had to restore the server.

The file is empty Robert.
Opened it through PICO but there was nothing in it.

Checked the root.accts file and the domain was in that, but WHM is still showing the username from the old server, nomatter how many times I try change it through WHM

John,

Humm, I would say try opening a ticket with cPanel but I have never once got a answer for anything from them. Try the forums.cpanel.net site
