Hey
I am looking to monitor one port on a server for bandwidth.
It will have to be done using a script on the server, so I was looking for recommendations from members on what would be best.

Would most people recommend MRTG?

Thanks
John

I think you can also use Cacti for that but you need to have SNMP

Did a search first to check, FreeBSD has a MRTG port so installing that now.
Haven't installed any scripts for monitoring bandwidth on the one port and MRTG seemed like a good option, going to give this a try first.
As long as this works I am going to stick with it, just need something to show how much bandwidth in GB is being transfered through the one port (Not a normal monitored port).`

MRTG is pretty good I do believe.. I'd try that.
