I know few persons renting premises in some business center and running this kind of setup as DC and selling servers for cheap rate

That is quite a mind blower to make your basement your datacenter.

You're also paying your datacenter for the stable FAST connection.
Hosting a few sites here and there but you will be able to host a ton of sites like a real datacenter is capable of doing.

As Jordan mentioned there are many things to consider that make your clients sites run like clock work.

Yes you will have to purchase the bandwidth which for me at that time was $800 a month for a 3 mb pipe However in this day and age you can get 15 mb up and down relatively cheap with the big boys blessing. However you probably can't get enough bandwidth to sufficiently serve a large customer base.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks guys over the past time I called my ISP and they said they wont allow it, I got there number from my internet provider verision.

Basement DC != Good Idea.
You're better off colocating, and it's really not that expensive. The issue with your own DC is addressing cooling, redundent power & the network. The investment you'll have to make to reseolve those issues is considerable.

Then again there's not reason you can't setup a http://diywebserver.com/ to just experiment, host a few personal/friends sites.

I think you would be better off colocating servers. Attempting to run multiple servers in your basement will definitely be a risky investment.

Find yourself a cheap place to colocate - don't run a data center in your basement. That could get pretty unsafe depending on how much equipment and power usage you're doing.

I've seen them too. Seems that's my idea of entertainment, as my wife peered over my shoulder and said "I can't believe you'd rather watch this than a movie!". I've got a few 1-2u's running at home, but it's solely for my amusement, and maybe testing new software, etc.
