Can you provide your IP address, the anyone can do a ping.

I think it's a issue of your local hosting.You can do a ping to check out the network speed.

I am using Filezilla & I have no issue with it. It seems that location is playing the role. You need to check via tracert report.

Every time I tried using FileZilla, it would freeze. 7 out of 10 times.
I use FreeFTP.com and I am happy. It is light and has all the basic features I need. Anything above is an overkill for me. dd

If you have slow file transfer, your server is very slow or your server is very busy. If you have shared/reseller, you must looking for new hosting..

I see that this topic still raises some question. To make a conclusion in the end:

This slow down was not temporary and I proved to be ONLY due to geographical distance between me and the server.

Where is your two servers located ?

I know those hosts that provide "unlimited" resources will often limit file transfer speeds to its impossible to use much of their resources.

It may sometime due to the modem that you are using, it may contract the direct flow of once link or data.
