Hi. I need to configure a server with the right components for faster video buffering. Does this mean a faster processor, faster hard drive RPMs, more memory, etc? I'm sure they all help, but is there a primary component on the server side, that helps videos load faster? Thanks.

What is your current configuration, and what issues are you having? You're kind of asking a very open ended question.

add a nvidia gpu and that allows for offload and this should help

Dual servers for load balancing, would be helpful also.

That won't do anything. GPU only affects rendering to a direct monitor, not serving video to some remote device.

If you want your videos to load faster, then you must opt for a Dedicated server which has a Quad Core processor with a minimum of 4 GB RAM, good cache, SAS drives rather then SATA. The port speed also matters a lot. The port speed must be 100 MBPS Dedicated one, not shared with any other user/server. All these things will help your videos to load fast.

Lots of RAM and a powerful CPU. Something like a 16Gb/Core i7 at least (for encoding/streaming).

Get faster hard drives. Go for 15k RPM SAS drive in a nice RAID10 array.

Definately try and get a dedicated port, otherwise your video streaming speed will suffer(esp at peak times)

You will need good processor,i recommend:

Intel Xeon E3-1270 3.40Ghz or better
16 GB DDR3 RAM memory
15k RPM SAS drives in RAID 10 (Hardware)
1 gigabit uplink
