What has been one of the hardest tasks or issues or random problems that have come across your way and how did you solve it?

I want to apologize if I won't be specific but my biggest problem was always not having as much knowledge for solving problems quickly as I would like to. But I will say that I have very high standards.

Think that can be said for everyone. There are so many areas things can go wrong and no one knows everything.

as others have said this goes for everyone.

we have all our servers as managed server as we are well aware we do not know everything, but what we do is if we need the managed assistance we will always ask for a consise breakdown of how they fixed the issue and then we will place this in a file, so if it happenns again we have the solution at hand, so we learn to fix the issue ourselves which in turn is quicker than having to wait for managed techs to look and fix it, which makes our clients more happy

My biggest challenge?

Moving forward, continuing to grow and keep focused without loosing my 'mojo' as you could put it.
Technical issues and most other issues are easy to fix, google can help anyone lost and teach you anything you need to know.

But the real challenge is mentally, to running a hosting business and any business

My biggest challenge is not to give up.. When we first started there was months where we did not see no sign ups but a heck of a lot of views and visitors. So I tried very very hard not to quit and look at me now here. making a decent amount of money at the end of the month after I pay all my bills. i'm happy where I am but wish I could do way better.

I can handle just about anything that is thrown at me but trying to explain to my friends and family why I work so hard, how I do it and why I do it is another thing. Does anyone else run into "All you do is work" or "Why can you not take a random day off"?

My biggest challenge has always been lack of time to learn everything I want to learn. I now prioritize my time into manageable time frames. There are some things I really believe are "must" learns, and others would very much "like to learn," but at least I move forward every day.

All the time - I split up with a partner of 3 years mainly relating to me being way to busy working.

I never had time, seriously, I still don't get loads of time.
Glad I now have someone understanding in my life!

I remember, I was once stuck with installing BIND DNS.
It is a really odd job, if you are doing it for the first time.

I had to go through thousands of wiki pages, documentations and the stuff that I hate reading.

*if it is hardware/server related* Lol. Though I am not sure, what in general 'challenges' the OP is trying to ask?

Ion cube was installed, but not working
I remember rebuilding apache many times and it resisted..
Luckily it was sorted out, but the hassle I had was a nightmare

Biggest challenges?..

1. Server Migrations - Moving clients from one server to another can be dauting.

2. Data Recovery - Corrupt backups are NO fun at all!

3. Hardware Failure - A hosting provider's worst nightmare?

Much depends on the problem itself. Some problems can be solved for a day or two.
