RaQ as SMS gateway...

Hi, welcome to the new hostingdiscussions.com forum
Just want to find out if anybody know how to setup a RaQ server as a SMS gateway and also using normal Nokia mobile phone as the GSM modem...

err I dont think RAQs are suitable as SMS gateways especially when the load is high.

Which cellular provider are you connecting it to? you know you need a direct connection to a provider, dont you?

Yes, I know.
Over here we have 5 mobile telcos, and we can send SMS to a different mobile telcos without any problem.
I just want to know if I can use this Kannel: Open Source WAP and SMS gateway works on the RaQs server.

Any progress or news with this? I'm trying to shoehorn Kannel onto a RaQ550 and I'm having a dependency nightmare.

you need a serial cable
smsd
a bit of patience

use google, the tools for this are freely available and work very well, with the dlr3p cable, my old nokia7110 a pay&go sim with 500 free texts we have one acting as a naggios and notification server very nicely.
