    Colocating own server in most cases is cheaper than leasing in long-term. Also, you have more control on colocated equipment and depending on a contract can visit datacenter yourself to perform the maintenance whenever you wish without need to pay for remote hands.

    I find it strange that only shared hosting management panels like DirectAdmin or cPanel are mentioned here. For managing KVM hypervisor nodes these two are my favorite: Proxmox and Virtfusion.

    What security concerns he is afraid of? The only thing coming to my mind is WordPress exploitation attempts, however those happen even without "blog" keyword used, as WordPress is easily detected via multiple ways.
