Dallas, Texas - (The Hosting News) - May 29, 2007 - On-demand hosting services for the small to medium enterprise (SME), SoftLayer Technologies, has debuted the release of several new products, including: enterprise racks, Specialty servers, Xpress servers, and an Open API for integrated management.

Lance Crosby, President and Chief Executive Officer of SoftLayer remarked, ''Our new web site and new products clearly demonstrate our commitment to raising the level of end user control in dedicated hosting. We are merging the physical layer with the virtual layer to become the first truly web-enabled hosting company.''

According to Mr. Crosby, all servers come with the standard virtual private rack that allows for additional servers and services to be added on-the-fly without service interruptions. Alternatively, SoftLayer also offers a virtual dedicated rack with advanced graphing options and bandwidth pooling. The premier offering includes a virtual datacenter offering that targets enterprise companies who seek full racks of dedicated servers delivered on demand.

Additionally, SoftLayer is launching Specialty servers and Xpress Series servers. Specialty servers include; redundant power servers, mass storage servers, streaming media servers, private NAS servers, and high-end servers with twelve hot swap drive bays capable of holding twelve terabytes of data. A more cost-efficient option, the Xpress Series servers target developers and IT managers who need servers sooner rather than later.

Mr. Crosby added, ''Open API might be the most significant development of them all. "The release of Open API signifies the importance we place on opening up our infrastructure management system. Now our customers have the ability to integrate all features into third-party server control panels, third-party commercial applications and even corporate intranets.''

Mr. Crosby concluded, ''We remain steadfast in our dedication to extend control of the hosted environment, so that we may provide end users with a level of control equal to or greater than their own internal datacenter environments.''

Located in the INFOMART in Dallas, Texas, SoftLayer was formed in June 2005 by a team of industry executives seeking to deliver low cost next generation on-demand hosting services for the small to medium enterprise (SME). Utilizing proprietary software, coupled with the industry's network-within-a-network topology, the company endeavors to deliver power and control in order to securely manage IT environments while providing scalability.
