London, United Kingdom - (The Hosting News) - September 26, 2007 - The London Internet Exchange (LINX), has expanded its corporate office team, with the appointment of Jennifer Atherton as its new Business Development Executive.

Ms. Atherton is a Nottingham University graduate and will support new member recruitment and communications activities, reporting to Sales and Marketing manager, Richard Yule.

Mr. Yule commented, ''Jennifer's arrival coincides with a period of unprecedented growth at LINX. She has already met many of the members having attended the recent LINX58 meeting and we see her contribution as key to strengthening future communications with prospective and existing members.''

Ms. Atherton remarked, ''As an non-profit organisation at the heart of the Internet industry, LINX really appealed to me. They offered exciting prospects and the opportunity to be part of a close-knit, well-organsied team. I am really looking forward to my future experiences of working for LINX and getting to know its members.''

LINX is a mutual organization owned and consisting of approximately 250 Internet service providers and content delivery service providers. It allows competing networks to exchange Internet traffic cost-effectively, bringing speed and efficiency benefits to their customers. The LINX platform enables access to Internet routes, reaching more countries, than any other public peering point. LINX operates in a regulatory and policy environment that is supportive of network operators and the Internet community, which it strives to maintain and reinforce through its Public Affairs activities. The LINX network includes over 550 connected member ports, over 50 member-facing 10GigE ports, and over 150Gb/sec of peak traffic.
