Sydney, Australia - (The Hosting News) - October 9, 2007 - Shared, reseller, dedicated and managed web hosting solutions firm, Crucial Paradigm, has upgraded its cPanel ''sender verify'' feature, in response to customer concerns.
The feature, which was integrated into the latest release of the popular control panel, frequently caused legitimate emails to be rejected, so was disabled.

Aaron Weller, Director of Crucial Paradigm offered, ''We first came across the problem in late August, after several of our clients notified us they were not receiving legitimate emails. After investigation by our engineers, we found the problem was caused by cPanel's implementation of 'sender verify.' Since then, we have worked to disable the function across our fleet, and we have not encountered the same problem.''

The ''sender verify'' function was first implemented in the cPanel 11 stable release. By default, the function is automatically enabled on all domains hosted on a servers running cPanel. The majority of web hosts running cPanel have not disabled the feature.

Mr. Weller added, ''Clients who had reported the problem hours earlier were pleasantly surprised to receive emails that had previously been blocked.''

Crucial Paradigm continues to rely on a variety of methods to mitigate the amount of spam its clients receive, including Spam Assassin, ClamAV (a virus scanner) and Spamhaus. The company's goal is to ensure that all legitimate email makes it through to its intended recipient, while blocking as much spam as possible.

In the near future, Cruicial Paradigm hopes to introduce frontend improvements to its email system, including the implementation of Round Cube, an AJAX-based Webmail interface, as well as Horde and SquirrelMail.

Founded in 2003, Crucial Paradigm operates in multiple locations around the world. The privately-owned, debt-free company offers a wide range of hosting solutions from Basic Web Hosting to Reseller Hosting, Virtual Dedicated Servers, Dedicated Servers and High Traffic Clusters, custom designed, based on each client's individual requirements.
