Hands-on Web Hosting has been working with McAfee SECURE since they purchased the operations from HackerSafe (previously ScanAlert), and our roots of the PCI Scanning goes back to 2005 when PCI first started to become a concern.

Today, through a new deal with McAfee, Hands-on Web Hosting is one of the first partners to offer McAfee Secure for a MONTHLY price rather than having to pay for 1 year up front.

The new program is aimed at allowing new users to the McAfee Secure program access to start securing their sites (and running PCI Scans) for a minimal fee of $64.90/month. Previously, you would have to purchase at $850/year in order to receive the McAfee Secure trustlogo and scanning.

Through the new program, users can now operate with a monthly fee, allowing website owners to test the waters and secure their sites from malware, virus infections and PCI Scanning with DAILY scans. This is the same great program that thousands of people have utilized over the years while paying a yearly fee, but now you can get on board for a much lower monthly fee.

The new program is something that Hands-on Web Hosting have been requesting for many months and we are now one of the first companies to offer this new service.

Nice, Conor!

I signed up for the McAfee deal WHMCS offers for $99.00, but I cancelled when I found out it was ONLY for PCI compliance, without the seal... Why would I not want to display the seal?.. Consumers WANT to see the seal, it makes them feel at ease. This new monthly offer is great thing for sure, and I know many will be interested in it (including myself!).

Yeah, the $99 PCI is nice if all you need is the quarterly scans. Many customers go that route as the $850/year (and more depending on the number of pageviews) is simply too high for small shops that are starting out, or for those that don't want to commit that much to TEST things and see if it makes a difference.

The monthly payment offer I'm sure will be a big hit and McAfee will offer it to all partners in the near future too (depending on responses). So far, our client base that I've talked to are liking the new offer and ability to jump in at a minimal fee.

Fingers crossed that it becomes a permanent fixture as I can only see this as being a benefit to the lineup of products that McAfee offers!
