!!!! No, that's not what I meant. I didn't state that, but I didn't think that I had implied that, either. I probably should have clarified, for the benefit of those quick to assume that everyone's a crook (or that everyone thinks that all designers are crooks...another bad assumption).
Other designers, probably kids (definitely a kid in one case...someone's 12 year old nephew), have copied my text before. So even though for many it's common practice to use greeked text when blocking out pages, I see more and more designers who don't bother. They'll sometimes use text copied from another site. Sometimes, that copied placeholder text then just gets carried forward into the "finished" site design...and then the owners are surprised when I send them a letter showing them their URL, my URL, screenshots of both, and asking them to change or remove those portions of the text which are identical.
I am a design minimalist - which, fortunately, means that very few people will copy my web site's looks. They're far too plain for most people. (My mother kept constantly wanting to wallpaper or faux finish every apartment I moved into. I had to explain to her: I like the plain look: either white or very light beige, solid color walls. It works for me. She still doesn't believe me, and I've been decorating my own place for the last 10 years. It'll probably take another 10 or 20 before she just gives up.)
