I have a bit uncommon request for users of this forum. We are preparing for official launch of a cloud hosting comparison service (IaaS only). The service is intended for users who need to buy cloud hosting services. On this forum there are a lot of people who has already bought cloud or other hosting services therefore I would like to ask you for feedback about the service.

www.cloudorado.com

The goal of the service is to provide information helpful when deciding which IaaS provider to choose. At this point it calculates prices for specified server configuration from multiple providers. User needs to just specify minimal requirements for RAM, storage, CPU power, OS and transfer to get the cheapest option from various providers. It will also match packages and subscriptions if maximum subscription duration is specified. In advanced mode there is also ability to type in custom values (editable combo box), give multi server configurations, specify number of hours to run and let the engine find best server match for a resource needed in a tier rather than a single server (eg. 1 TB RAM).

We believe the price comparison piece is pretty solid but we don’t want to limit to the price only. We want to make it a source of any information needed to make a solid decision on a provider to choose. And this is the main reason of this post, since we would like to inline it with your experience before we go any further.

There are several items that are of main interest, but don’t need to limit to them:
  1. Would it be useful for you in current shape if you needed to choose cloud hosting provider?
  2. What should be added or changed to make it useful?
  3. Is it intuitive enough to use without explanation? Or maybe is it too simplistic?
  4. What additional information is important to you when you choose IaaS provider? Please be specific here, eg. interface speed, SSAE 16 Type II certification, SLA, API, etc.

This information is really crucial for future shape of the service , which hopefully one day may be needed by you.

Thank you very much for your help!

In short: Yes

To be honest everything looking perfect I don't think there is a need to change anything. But if want to include something, then include “customer review” option.

Yes, it is pretty intuitive, because of simplistic.

1. How many VM's can a user create?
2. What are the charges for VM creation?
3. How does the backup method functionality works?
