The IP address you were given is probably a shared one. You will usually share one with many other domain names. The important thing is that you have an IP address assigned to your domain, and that all the right nameservers know what it is. You can also purchase a dedicated IP Address from us, and that will be your address alone. But do you need a dedicated IP? Most websites don't. The most common reason that a website would need a dedicated IP is if it requires an SSL certificate for operating secure connections. Usually these are necessary if you are operating a business that processes transactions over the Internet. Any eCommerce site should have an SSL Certificate, and therefore would require a dedicated IP.

shows me that this is a copy/paste (without checking or changing things, so no care about) and made me run away from that website.
And yoy want to hire moderators for this? That you called a tutorial? Common be original and you'll have more people there...

also this info is wrong and out of date

Any eCommerce site should have an SSL Certificate, and therefore would require a dedicated IP.

this is not the case these days if your server is SNI enabled.

Server Name Indication (SNI) is an extension to the TLS computer networking protocol[1] that indicates to what hostname the client is attempting to connect at the start of the handshaking process. This allows a server to present multiple certificates on the same IP address and TCP port number and hence allows multiple secure (HTTPS) websites (or any other Service over TLS) to be served off the same IP address without requiring all those sites to use the same certificate. It is the conceptual equivalent to HTTP/1.1 virtual hosting for HTTPS.

I will never use that is not fully compatible with OS or browsers, so to have a risk using and have problems it is better the dedicated IP address way for SSL, especially for Android.

I would at least change the default theme to something more inviting.. I did a quick Google search, and this site has a bunch of free themes for phpBB: http://www.phpbb3styles.net/

I'll say it again: You're going about this backwards. Advertising the forums should come last, or at least after doing some ground work:

1: Get hosting (done)
2: Get forum software (done)
3: Get a theme
4: Add some basic posts (cross post from other forums could work initially)
5: Make friends and let those people start filling your forums
6: Advertise.

Start small. Keep it simple. Only add categories and sub-forums if there's a need for them. Nothing less inviting than empty forums.

Internet Explorer (any version) on Windows XP or Internet Explorer 6 or earlier
(well XP is dead in the water - Support for Windows XP (EOL) ended on 8 April 2014) also anyone using IE version 6 or earlier will find more than SNI not working as its now IE 11)

Safari on Windows XP - Safari is for mobiles/tablets so no many using XP anymore

BlackBerry OS 7.1 or earlier - i can access SNI enabled sites on my Blackberry Playbook and curve 9320 fine and they using OS 7.1

Windows Mobile up to 6.5 - . In February 2010, Microsoft announced Windows Phone to supersede Windows Mobile. As a result, Windows Mobile has been deprecated.

Android default browser on Android 2.x - Android is now version 4.4 so really no one shoud be using 2.x now

so that list is well out of date

we are set now
