[Study] Buying music online.

My friend and I both did research papers on consumer behavior and business research on the subject of selling music online. Both of our studies have shown that people indeed are ready to buy music online (in MP3 format) if three criterias are met: music is of high-quality, it is affordably priced and it's legal. So I decided to ask you, the potential consumers, for purpose to getting to an average price for this study:

What price are you willing to pay per song and per album if purchasing music from an online MP3 music store? Assumption: MP3s offered are of highest quality 320 kbps (CD quality).

Appreciate your answers.

I have absolutely no idea what are the prices in this market, but I guess I do see the value in being able to buy songs as opposed to albums.

Anyway, regarding pricing: since there's no physical product that will be shipped (CD) and we're on the internet where everyone is looking for a good deal, I would expect the price per quantity of music to be lower than the one on a CD.

Half the price would sound like a deal to me. However, before actually buying, I would do some searches to see what prices are like in various places.

Since the melodies should be virtually the same no matter the provider, I think price would be a very serious comparison factor, but so will the store's reputation. In other words, from several reputable stores, I would be inclined to go with the cheaper one.

I hope I'm making some sense; I'm very sleepy at this hour.

Like ldcdc I'm not too sure about the pricing in this market.
However i would certainly be willing to pay around half, for each album and maybe around 75 cents for a single track not too sure though. When buying in store there is extra cost as they have to provide the CD'S and casing etc, That's not alot but then there is the cost of running the store which ads alot to the price you pay, A online shop wouldn't cost as much to manage and maintain, So yea paying Half sounds reasonable enough. I can see the advantage of having alot more tracks in online stores maybe more of the oldies which cannot be found in shops etc.
Regards,
